An excerpt of my debut novel was published in Word Riot in 2016. They are on hiatus right now, so I linked to a PDF version. This excerpt is titled “Acrylic Hearts”, and belongs to my larger body of work, The Courage to Exist in Daylight. It is available for purchase available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Word Riot is a great online magazine that was launched in 2002, so I sincerely hope they come back soon. Either way, it was exciting and humbling to be published by them, and they had some very kind words about my story, writing, and main character, Mary-Claire.
A separate excerpt, “child i am”, has been published in Story Week Reader. Sadly, the Reader is no longer in production and digitized copies are unavailable. Trust me though, my mom was proud!
An excerpt of my next WIP called “Bird Woman” was featured in the March 2020 issue of the Starlight Writers Society journal.
